Continuous snow cover

It's snowing now.
Will snow not be melted until next spring?
I am really eager to go to hot springs...
Even taking a bath is comfortable in this temperature.
What a pleasure soaking in hot springs will be!

↓でtwitterフォローせがんだみたいでちょっと恥ずかしい。
RSSリーダーとかで読んでる人は気付いてないかな、と思って書いただけで他意はないです。
知ってて放置していたなら当然そのまま放置で構いませんので。。。

Happy New Year!

Apocalypse

After Doraemon, I'm reading "Gambling Apocalypse Kaiji".
The tag line of Tonegawa, "Fuck you... I'm gonna kill you...", looks Doraemon's speech to Nobita.
The famous AA.

Paralyze

Air conditioners are down today in my office.
Because of maintenance.
So it's too cold even in my laboratory.

My fingers are paralyzed with cold.
That may cause mistakes in my experiments.

Doraemon

I am reading Doraemon.
The one in which Jaian is not a nice guy.
Many episodes are not so interesting,
but some episodes are heartwarming.
For example, Sayounara Doraemon, Nobita no Kekkon Zennya and episodes of a grandma of Nobita.

After this, I will read the one in which Jaian is nice guy.
Oh, Soul Mate!

Pokemon

Pokemon is loved in America.
Pokemon is so popular that the famous "South Park" once made a parody of Pokemon.

I played the first generation, "Red and Green", the third generation, "Ruby and Sapphire", and the latest generation, "Black and White".
The second generation, "Gold and Silver", and the fourth generation, "Diamond and Pearl", are not played.
Thus I will play the seventh generation, next.

I'm surprised that there are more than 600 kinds of Pokemon.
I can't memorize them.

And I was surprised that all Pokemons have English name.
I can't communicate with Americans on that issue.

Daylight saving time

Daylight saving time is well known rather as "summer time" in Japan.
In America it ends the first Sunday in November.
Today.
At 2AM.

I watched my clock in my PC just before 2AM.
The next of 1:59 was 1:00.
It's amazing.

On this day, we have two 1AM.
Should we call them first 1AM and second 1AM?

Now I have to adjust the time in all my analog clocks.

Tumbler

I love coffee.
We can buy coffee in many places in America.
A cup of coffee costs about $2.
It's a little expensive if we buy it everyday.

Thus I brew my own coffee everyday.
And I bring it in my tumbler to drink it in my office.

I can save if I buy coffee in coffee shops with my tumbler.
The price of coffee is about $1 with my tumbler.

That effort will save hundreds dollars through a year.
And that's why many Americans have their own tumbler.

Ads by Google

I hated the ads shown in this blog.
So I had paid for a charged plan.
Several months ago, they said they couldn't deduct due.
And too much time has passed since I started to make a contract with livedoor.
Now I can't do it again. I've forgotten all processes.

Therefore I'm sorry for having you see the obtrusive ads.

Indeed there are so few visitors that I'd like to keep the ads showing.
And the ads are not a problem if you read my articles in RSS readers.
These are why I don't make a contract with livedoor again.

Sushi

Sushi is the most famous Japanese food throughout the world.
There are many sushi restaurants in Boston also.
Many of these restaurants are owned by Chinese.
Of course they are terrible for Japanese.

Aside from their qualities, almost all Americans consider sushi as an ordinary food for Japanese, like hamburger for Americans.
In other words, Americans think that Japanese eat sushi several times per a week.
As you know, it's a big misconception.
Sushi is a little special food for Japanese.
As Japanese common sense, Japanese have sushi when they celebrate something, e.g., marriage of their child, or when they treat their guests visiting their home.
These are quite typical scene especially in Japanese fictions.

Now I wonder how I should explain above fact to Americans.
What is the American equivalent of Japanese sushi?
Maybe turkey is. But I'm not sure.

I see him approximately once a month.
He usually appears at dawn.

Is he wild?

mirror

My parents said, "Your son mirrors your childhood."
Is it good news or bad news?
I thought boys take after their mothers.
So I supposed my son will be handsome.

Either way, he will have to wear glasses.
It's a genetic promised fact.

ski jacket

I bought a ski jacket as a winter wear.
Someone said that Bostonian usually wear ski jackets in winter.
Boston's winter is as cold as Hokkaido's.
Where can I go to to take photos in winter?
There will be full of snow, so I guess all photos I can take are white.

Happy Halloween!

Salem is well known for Halloween festival.
There are many people dressing up for Halloween.
Thus I visited Salem on Halloween, 10/31.
That was my second visit.

Even at the North Station in Boston, I saw many cosplayers.
Commuter Rail was crowded, but all of us had our seat.

It was a shame that autumn leaves had fallen at Salem.
Despite my supposition, there were not only cosplayers but also many non cosplayers.
Most of these cosplays are scary.
Some of them are cute costume, for instance Alice in Wonderland.
As other example, I watched a few Mario and Luigi.

Is Segway (Ginger?) popular in America?

Eventually, I understood how Americans love Halloween.

bath

I have an one hour bath everyday.
It is good for diet, people say.
During my bath time, I read my Kindle in Ziploc.
Otherwise, I play my NDS.

It's a wonder whether it's ordinary or not.
One fact is that if our gadgets sink, they won't be covered by warranty.

electrochemistry

I drank with Japanese friend.
He told me about his laboratory.
Both of my and his laboratory belong to engineering, but I hardly understood his research.
I always regret I haven't studied chemistry.

Fish and Chips seems too oily.

Frequency

I watched a movie, "Frequency"(2000).
Its Japanese title is "Aurora no Kanata he".
I'm completely satisfied with that movie.
Somebody may say its sci-fi has collapsed.
But it doesn't matter to me.
That movie has good after taste.
I can recommend it for all people except hard sci-fi fans.

One worrying thing is the Japanese title.
I guess it would be better if its title had been translated directly, "Syuuhasuu".

We can read thousands of free out-of-copyright books.
I've already read some books, e.g. "Alice's Adventure in Wonderland".
This is a photo of "Little women" (1868).

I believe it's one of the greatest gadget for ESL.

Kindle

I couldn't help buying Amazon Kindle 3.
It's very lightweight, easy to see, long-lasting and comfortable.
In addition, we can buy it at low price.
The one I bought is Wi-Fi model which doesn't equip 3G.
It costs just $139.
