“ROCKET” is now moving back to 3rd floor
of “Omotesando Hills Doujunkan” (a cultural / commercial complex). ROCKET which
started as a ‘magazine like’ gallery was born in ‘Doujunkan Aoyama apartment’,
(former Omotesando Hills) in 1996, will become 20 years anniversary in 2016.
ROCKET ‘s new theme is “FRONT OF THE MODE” as Omotesando is one of the world’ s
major fashion district. ROCKET will re-born as an gallery & pop up shop
space and will curate events which will contain new fashion, refined selection
of fashion related creativities and so on.
For the very first exhibition in new
ROCKET, we proudly announce to invite Yoshikazu Yamagata the designer of ‘writtenafterwards‘ & ’written by‘.
Yamagata will make installation related
to the latest 2016-17A/W collection of writtenafterwards & written by, that have been
shown in MBFWT a
day before the exhibition opening, and also using art works by the Japanese artist
Toshiyuki
Konishi.
While the exhibition is going, written
by 2016-17A/W pre-ordering will be hold from 26th to 30th of March
in the venue as well. And we will sell special items of written by collaborated
with Hiroshi Fujiwara. Those items are going to be sold only in ROCKET and
stock will be limited numbers.

Yoshikazu
Yamagata
After
graduating Central St. Martins college of art & design in 2005, worked as a
assistant designer at John Galliano and returned to TOKYO. Founded ‘writtenafterwards’ with Kentaro Tamai(resigned in 2009)in 2007. In 2014, started a basic line ‘written
by’.
Proposing new
roles for fashion by creating the connections between people who has
standpoints in such like social, cultural, academic and environmental fields,
through the creations in fashion like collections, showrooms, and runway shows.
Working very
actively as a designer and artist, at the same time, in 2008, founded ‘kokono gakkou’ as a experimental and learning field of fashion and presiding the
school and teaching.
