MacBook再インストール

内蔵ドライブの残りがもうギリギリというか、ギリギリを超えて減っていた。ひとまずiTunesライブラリをTime Capusuleに追い出して急場をしのいでいたけど、連休に入ったのでディスク交換(230GB->500GB)、ついでに OSを TigerからLeopardにアップグレードする作業をしてる。

最初、旧ドライブの中身を新ドライブにコピーした上で上書きインストール、というシナリオを考えていて実際そのとおりにしたのだけど、とある理由で失敗してクリーンインストールになった。そのときに移行アシスタントユーティリティを使ってみて、これは結構よいものだと思った。

このまま使い続けようと思ったけど、いくつか問題が。まずMail.appが起動しない。それから、新しいディスクの残り領域が 300GBはあるはずなのに、何故か百数十GBしかないことになっていて、しかもそれだけのファイルがどこにあるのか不明だ。それ以外は快適なのだけど、残り 130GBではあと1年も持つかどうか。せっかくディスク交換したのに意味がない。なら、まだLeopardにして 1日も経たないのだから、今度は最初からクリーンインストールでやり直したほうがいい。今ならまだ何も失うものはないから。

というわけで、土曜も日付のかわる 2時間くらい前からの作業となりました。
