Open Submission. Call for 24 multi-disciplinary artists for the event ‘ 24
hours non stop art’. The event will take place at Tigh Fili Cork Arts
Theatre, on the 28th-29th October 2007. Deadline: 24th September. "24 hours
non stop art" is an artistic event about the experiencing duration. In the
course of one day and one night (24 hours), viewers will be able to see a
whole range of possibilities offered by videos, visual arts, performances,
dance, music, theatre, poetry... of artists, who will form a part of the
international scene.
24 hours represents a conventional and symbolic measure of a cycle: the
sun cycle, the cycle of the biological human body, the DAY CIRCLE.
Three objectives are proposed: - The first one is to question the
physical and moral resistance. How does a body resist to a
non-stop-art-work, for 24 hours; the concentration, the tiredness, the
creativity... - The second objective is to create a connection between the
artists themselves, and the artists with the public, the viewers. The
project will present an outstanding variety of events with an emphasis on
the interdisciplinary and interactions between media, artists and viewers.
24 hours seeks to reaffirm that an art-work is first an event before being a
simple testimony. - The third objective is to promote the artists who lives
and practises art in his own county. Each event will be recorded and
broadcasted at every show.
