Share

I really never something like this before: The Lancer 300 is a Camera Backpack with Exoskeleton design and integrated battery! You can read all the details and preorder it on Kickstarter (Click here).

What do you think…is this a bit of an overkill or is it really useful?

Reminder: The German company Spinn now has over 1,000 backers for the new magnetic Swift-lock on Kickstarter (Click here). This is how it works:

Budget Gear, PRO Results – Olympus E-PL7 Studio Portrait

Share

Robin Wong writes:

I self invited myself to a friend’s portrait shooting session, and I thought it would be fun to experiment with older, cheaper gear. Olympus PEN E-PL7 was a budget, entry level mirrorless camera and I used the camera with the cheapest kit lenses for this studio portrait shoot. I also shared some tips on how to get the best out of the Olympus system in this situation.

The next sensor size debate: ThePhoBlographer vs Daniel Cox

Share

ThePhoBlographer recently wrote:

When I talk about small sensor cameras, I’m talking about both APS-C and Micro Four Thirds. All the best features end up with full-frame cameras first, and the APS-C cameras aren’t given enough to make them really relevant.

Daniel Cox answer is:

I don’t think anyone can argue that Olympus is behind the curve regarding state-of-the-art features. Pro Capture in RAW, focus stacking, IP53 weather protection, Starry Sky AF, and the other tools I mentioned prove the fallacy in the comment, “Small Sensor Cameras Suck.” In fact, the unique features mentioned above and the size, price, and mobility of OM-1’s Industry Leading Technology keep me firmly committed to the MFT cause, particularly to OM System.

My personal take is that sensor size is only one of the many aspects of a camera. The Fuji X100VI is selling like hotcakes even if it’s APS-C and fixed lens only. I do believe the overall experience is what really matters.
