F-1 FREEDOM

Since there is a contest at Bowls all week, I have to find somewhere else to surf.  Went out this morning looking around for a nice wave with not too many surfers out.

On the way out getting greeted by a pod of dolphins.  They look so beautiful weaving in and out of the boat wake.

I had my surfboard and foil board on the boat.  Kind of wanted some excitement so guess what I chose?  It’s been so long since I foiled that I was thinking I’d probably forgot how.

On my first wave, I was going so fast that it was pretty freaky.  Surfing and snowboarding is fast, but foiling is like Formula 1 racing.  I felt like Lewis Hamilton.  I should have wore a helmet today.

After the first wave, things came back quickly.  Everything started to  feel so light and so free.

Had so much fun today that I’m already thinking about doing the exact same thing tomorrow.  FREEDOM!

The Special Yotei Bus

The many times I’ve been to Niseko, everything is covered in snow.  So it was nice to see what it looks like without snow.  It was a lot warmer, and a lot easier to walk.  Takahashi-san getting my snowboard ready for the mountain.

Welcome to the Special Bus.  The coolest place to stay.

I was a little worried about getting hurt while snowboading, but I was more worried about getting attacked by a bear.  I was always looking out for them.  Sharks don’t scare me, but bears do.

This day broke the record for the hottest day ever recorded on April 15th.  Shorts and slippers gazing at “Hokkaido’s Fuji” which is called Mount Yotei.

The food in Hokkaido is amazing.  Very authentic, and very delicious.

Tempura with soba is now my favorite.  This was only $11.  It would be triple that price in Hawaii.

And the water is so fresh too.  The free underground drinking water was the best water I’ve ever drank.

I logged 6 airplane flights, multiple train rides, busses, taxis, hundreds of kilometers driving, and hours of walking.  But traveling in Japan is easy, comfortable, and on time.  The best transportation system in the world.
