I’ve been listening to your podcast since 2018 and been a ‘full-time’ trader since around that time. Very inspirational content, thank you!

After traveling to Mexico and US in recent months I ended up in Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City now without any specific plan but to see the world. Going to be here for another 4 weeks. Yesterday I met an American from Cali at Starbucks and after visiting museums together, we went to see apartments at [name] b/c he’s looking for a place to retire. Your last episode about dipping a toe in the pool water resonated well with the current moment.

Hi Michael,

I have followed your work and listened to your podcasts for many years, and appreciate your knowledge and general commentary. I can see conceptually how trend following can work, as well as philosophically understand it, but my reticence has been that unless you have a fairly substantial asset base to work with, it strikes me that you are either risking almost everything on 1 or two markets, or to get the market diversification, the allocations to each market will be too small. I see how some of these market titans have grown accounts from nothing, but there must be 100’s of others that have blown up their accounts simply by being stopped out of “good” trades. I would appreciate your opinion on that.

Trend following is not trading one market alone. Trend following is not betting it all on one market alone or risking too much on one market alone. I add more here on capital. There are many different types of instruments to trade opening up trend following to many.

Really enjoyed the podcast. Every once in a while when I get frustrated at the nonsense I see going on, I go back and listen to an interview you did with Ed Seykota, where he described what was going on and what was coming. (He wasn’t panicked about it, he was just preparing for it.) I will admit it’s hard to do, especially when I see what is happening to friends and family who are like sheep waiting for Mr/Miss/Gender Neutral person to rescue them.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again for your podcasts. So glad I found them at the beginning.

My guest today is Doug Greenig, CEO of Florin Court Capital. He has 29 years of experience in portfolio management and trading. From 2012 to 2014, he was Chief Risk Officer of Man/AHL and also headed the Portfolio Management Group. Doug was jointly responsible (with the CIO) for the evaluation and approval of all investment strategies and trading systems. Prior to AHL, Doug was a Managing Director working as a quantitative portfolio manager at the Fortress Investment Group. From 2001 to 2006, Doug was Head of Agency Mortgage Trading at RBS Greenwich Capital.
