The previous fundraising night, set to happen in July 2020, sadly fell victim to the Covid lockdown. The rescheduled event to raise money for the continuing care of Dan Treacy will now take place at the Oslo venue in Hackney, on Saturday 11th February 2023. There will be live music from a TV Personalities band comprising Jowe Head, Jeff Bloom, Dave Musker, Mike Stone and Lee McFadden - plus special guest performances to be announced. There will also be a DJ set from Alan McGee.

Writer JC Brochard has published a memoir based on his diaries from the period 1981 - 84, during which he discovered the music of Television Personalities and saw several live performances at the Living Room in London. At the end of February Dan Treacy was moved from hospital into a specialist rehabilitation unit to continue receiving treatment.

'A Day In Heaven' was saddened to learn this week of the passing of Graeme Wilson, following a long illness. Graeme played bass for the group during the tour of Germany in spring 1996, performing the same duty for what was to be the last TVP gig for eight years on their return to London. He later played the bass again for dates in Glasgow and Edinburgh in April 2005. Our condolences go out to his friends and family.
A commemorative get-together is to be held this Sunday in London, for those who knew him. Details can be found on Facebook.

"'DANIEL UPDATE' Fantastic news Daniel is out of ITU and making great progress. Daniel has a way to go yet but at the moment all is going in the right direction. Daniel still has a Trachotomy fitted but I am getting used to lip reading until he has some speech therapy and a change in the Tracky fitting to allow him to have a voice. This is the miracle we have all prayed for. XXXX"

Daniel's sister has been posting updates on his Facebook page. The latest update gives cause for cautious optimism:
"Today Daniel managed to open one eye for nearly 10mins on and off. He is aware of people around him and is starting to move his right hand fingers when asked, it takes a lot of effort and he can't always manage it but it is a start we never thought we would see. There are however a lot of other health issues on top of everything else and as I have said before we have been told there is no guarantee as to the long term outcome as the damage he suffered from the blood clot was so serious that it was only the fantastic efforts of the Neuro Surgeons that saved 'Daniels' life . PLEASE keep praying that as each day passes Daniel gets stronger. I have told him of all the love he is being sent every day. GOD BLESS you all for your kind words. Much Love Patricia XXX"

According to a report on the NME website, Dan Treacy is currently critically ill in a London hospital after having treatment to remove a blood clot to his brain.

Television Personalities have announced the forthcoming release of a new 7" single, 'Wonder What It Was?' b/w 'Radiohead Song'. This will be a very limited pressing. For details on how to obtain a copy, contact the band via the official email address on the contact page.
In the spring of 2009, Television Personalities convened at XL Studios in London to record a cover version of the Titus Andronicus song 'Arms Against Atrophy' for possible release on a split single with the band. This never materialised, but you can now download the track via the download page.
Television Personalities will be appearing at an event at the 100 Club in London on Tuesday 13th September which will begin with a screening of the film 'Upside Down', the story of Creation Records. Following the film will be live performances from Mark Gardener (Ride), Jazz Butcher and then the TV Personalities. Full details of times and ticket prices can be found on the gigs page.

Overground Records of the UK will be releasing a new 13 track CD on 19th February 2007. Released today through Sanctuary Records, 'CD86' presents '48 tracks from the birth of indie pop'. Compiled by TVP fan Bob Stanley of St Etienne, the compilation naturally looks back at the original 'C86' cassette and both commemorates and celebrates the era and its music. Among the 48 tracks is Television Personalities 'Paradise Estate'.

Dan Treacy (and maybe others TVP-ers) is to appear at Bar Form in Enfield, North London, on Thurday 12th October. Tickets can be bought from promoters Red Griffin Records.
The scheduled appearances in Paris (16th) and Toulouse (17th) have been cancelled due to illness.
Described as, 'the alternative tribute to the Television Personalities', and intended as a companion piece to 2005's 'If I Could Write Poetry' compilation, 'Someone To Share My Life With' is out now on limited edition vinyl on the But Is It Art? label. Television Personalities have been confirmed as one of the acts appearing at this year's Green Man festival, to be held over the three days of Friday 18th - Sunday 20th August at the Glanusk Park Estate in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The festival has been organised by 'It's Jo and Danny', whose association with Dan Treacy goes back to the Dreamworld label and 'Room at the Top' days.

Dan Treacy will be making a return visit to 'How Does it Feel' to play some records, on Friday 16th December at The Phoenix, 37 Cavendish Square, London W1G 0PP. The club runs from 10pm - 3am, and Dan will be spinning the discs from 11.00 to 12.30. Admission is four pounds for members, six pounds for non-members (membership is free - apply via the website).

Dan Treacy made an impromptu live appearance at the Subway Sect gig at the Polar Bear club in London's Soho on Friday 10th June. He joined the Sect on stage and attempted a few Television Personalities numbers.

Sadly, illness affecting one of the members of Television Personalities has meant that the planned appearance at the Primavera festival on Saturday 28th May will not now go ahead.
The tour of Germany scheduled for 12th - 16th May has sadly been cancelled due to illness.
The Stockholm gig scheduled for Thursday 5th May has been cancelled. A message from Dan on www.popaganda.se reads: "i am really really sorry but for personal reasons we cant do the show. i am very upset about this but we just cant make it... these things happen... we will come to stockholm [sometime]......with all respect danielx"
There will be an after show party at the Meanie Bar on Spielbudenplatz. A couple of TVP members are rumoured to be spinning some records too. Admission is free. See flyers here.

Unpopular Records have now released 'The Legend! sings the songs of Daniel Treacy'. The 7", limited to 500 copies, comprises live renditions of 'If I Could Write Poetry' and 'A Sense of Belonging', recorded at the Albert in Brighton on 15 October 2003. The Legend! is, of course, better known as music journalist and Plan B magazine editor Everett True.

Television Personalities will reportedly be appearing at the Triptych music festival in Scotland in March / April. The full schedule of the festival is to be revealed on 1st March, but it has been suggested that the TVPs will be appearing at the St. Brides Theatre in Edinburgh (30 April) and The Tron Theatre in Glasgow (1st May).
